Bump Galaxy is a multiplayer environment and virtual world for mental wellbeing built within gaming platforms Minecraft and The Sandbox, reimagining online spaces as a site for emotional care and collective rest. Set in a soft, dreamlike universe of floating biomes and surreal landscapes, the world invites players to explore, reflect, and connect — with themselves and others — through guided rituals and gentle play. These serene otherworldy biomes also became the setting for professionals to facilitiate meditation sessions, drama therapy and other forms of care.

Developed during the COVID pandemic, the project responded to widespread feelings of isolation and emotional fatigue. It speculates on how digital environments might be designed for healing — offering new architectures for mental health, intimacy, and community in a time of crisis. In Bump Galaxy, technology becomes a tool for tenderness, and the virtual landscape becomes a map and archive for collective healing.
