Minecraft Concept Trailer

The systems through which we live our lives today are not always in our best interests. The incentive structures behind money, technology, and healthcare cultivate relationships wherein we commodify each other’s well being so that it becomes simply a means to capitalist ends rather than an end in itself. On a massive scale, this is causing stress, anxiety, depression and mass burnout.

When we start to look at these systems from the lens of game mechanics, we can start to question the fundamental rules that govern our lives and realize that they can be modified. As they are today, most video games have capitalist ideologies encoded into their very mechanics, and we often forget that they can be used as a tool through which we can experiment in ways not possible in our existing environment. Video games and the virtual universes within them offer a unique set of possibilities, that, when activated thoughtfully, could begin to include more diversity in perspective that prioritizes our wellbeing.

So... WHAT IS BUMP GALAXY?

BUMP GALAXY is a virtual theme park for collaborative mental, emotional and spiritual care, which features a unique landscape and resource economy based on collective wellbeing. It is also a community of players, each with their own unique capacity to provide care. Engage with a diverse range of trained professionals in the field of mental health as well as make friends with fellow citizens. Visit the different Care Commons (attractions), create new knowledge through collaboration and play together to help one another become better versions of yourselves.

Technology, economy & healthcare can continue in their current trajectory or they can begin to include more diversity in perspective that prioritizes our wellbeing. In an increasingly automated world, what if a world without work is one in which we care for each other?
