Which airport should I arrive in?

You’ll want to fly in and out from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), located in Metro Manila. From here, you can continue to other islands by taking domestic flights via airlines like Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines. Just be mindful of which terminal your flight leaves from. The last thing you want is having to transfer between terminals because traffic in the city can be pretty bad.

Where can I go from Manila?

If you’re looking to try scuba diving or snorkeling, consider visiting Coron, Apo Reef, or Moalboal. If you’d like (to learn) to surf, Siargao would be the place to go. Other places you might find interesting to visit are Bohol, El Nido and Sagada.

What will the weather be like?

It’s going to be warm! Expect the average temperature to be somewhere around 35C. You’ll likely only need your sweater for the plane ride, so pack accordingly.

How can we get around?

For transportation around Manila (to get to/from our events on April 2 & 4), you might want to either rent a car or take a Grab car (the Philippines’ version of Uber). We will, however, arrange for a van to take you from the church to the lunch reception venue on April 4, so you’ll only have to think about getting to the church and going home. If you will join us in Siargao or travel to other islands after the wedding, the best way to get around is by renting a scooter.

Is it safe to drink tap water in The Philippines?

No. Drinking tap water in The Philippines can make you sick. Please don’t try. Side note: drinking water in restaurants (if not bottled) is always free.

What food should I try?

Some of our personal favorites are kare-kare, sisig, halo-halo, maja blanca and turon.

Any restaurant recommendations?

Here’s a map with some of our favorites. If you like massages, try to make time for that in your agenda too because they’re so much cheaper in the Philippines!

Should I carry cash?

Yeah, just in case.

Who should I contact if I have any questions?

Please just message either of us on WhatsApp, Telegram or wherever we normally talk!
